David Allen, Owner and CEO
David Allen earned his MBA from the University of Tulsa, which he attended on a full academic scholarship as an undergraduate, and has done additional post-graduate work in Healthcare Systems Management at the University of Denver. David has almost 20 years of healthcare management experience, including senior-management roles, working for industry leaders such as Quest Diagnostics and GE Healthcare. He has a well documented track-record of success in managing large, highly-productive organizations with financial responsibility into the hundreds of millions of dollars.
David's experience includes roles in general management, sales, marketing, and
finance. He has also worked as a paid consultant for Liberty Partners, a venture capital
firm, and as an adjunct business professor for Johnson and Wales University. For
several years, he chaired an interdepartmental committee at Quest Diagnostics charged
with driving operational effectiveness and improving profitability. He oversaw projects
that affected how the company managed its logistics and other functional departments.
Throughout his career, David has demonstrated a prowess for maximizing organizational
profitability through top-line growth and effective cost management while maximizing
customer satisfaction.
While at Quest Diagnostics, David was trained in Six Sigma and championed multiple quality improvement projects including a medical billing project. The quality process improvement skills he acquired through Six Sigma combined with his extensive management experience enable David to drive organizational excellence within Flatirons Practice Management. For example, although FPM already had healthy accounts receivables, David led the company to successfully reduce the cumulative accounts receivables for which it was responsible by 37 percentage points in the first nine months after he acquired the company. It is this type of expertise that enables FPM to produce better business results for our clients.
